December Glitter Queens Blog Hop - Bags & Tags

Hello Friends and welcome to the December Glitter Queens Blog Hop!

This month we are each featuring Bags & Tags in hopes to inspire you as you look to wrap up your holiday gifting with a creative & personalized touch!

Today I have put together a super simple yet beautiful bag along with a coordinating tag that anyone would be happy to receive.....

To start with I have these FABULOUS handmade ornaments from Noonday Collection that I am gifting.  I have purchased a fabulous selection of ornaments this year through a friends adoption fundraiser and I just can't wait to give them away knowing that not only did their purchase support a family bringing their sweet little girl home but it also is supporting artisans families across the globe through dignified work all while bringing a smile to the gift recipients face. 💝 Talk about a gift with lasting Impact!

Alright but enough about what's in the bag...

Let's move on to the creative process of wrapping it up with a special touch!

I truly do love adding a personal touch and while I also would love to be stashed away crafting for hours on end, I just don't have that kind of time. 😉 So I like to use simple supplies and elevate them to the next level by just adding a few special touches.

For today's project, I took a plain craft bag from my stash ((but honestly, you can get something similar at any of your big box stores )) and ran it through my bigshot along with my Quilted Top Textured Impression Embossing Folder to give it a lovely texture.

Next, I chose to add a simple lace doily along with a strip of Stampin' UP!s beautiful designer series paper from the Festive Farmhouse collection. After adding a bow, it still needed a little something so I opted for this adorable reindeer tag to complete the look. I created this sweet reindeer tag in no time using the Seasonal Chums Stamp Set and Coordinating Thinlets adding just a hint of color and shimmer to complete the look.

So what do you think?
How special do you think it would feel to receive this sweet gift?

Glitter Queens November Blog Hop has me dreaming of a white Christmas

Hello Friends and welcome to our November Glitter Queens Blog Hop - Happy Holidays Theme

For my Holiday project today I have one of my favorite kind of interactive cards, the pop up card in a box

These cards are really FUN and I love to make these when I have some free time to unleash the creative possibilities....

The best part is that the card folds up perfectly to fit into a standard sized envelope

I have an older video I created and I will link it below to give you all of the measerments and details so you can create your own pop up box card this Holiday Season...

Thank you for stopping by today and be sure to check out all the other Glitter Queens Hopping along with us... Up next is Cheryl who always has something great to share with us 😍 and for a full list of everyone participating in our hop today see below.

Glitter Queens October Blog Hop

Well hello friends 👋

Welcome to this months Glitter Queens Blog Hop!

For my project this month,  I have made a matchbook style Halloween Treat Holder which I find is perfect for gifting one of my favorite Halloween treats.

Now of course you can use any snack sized treat for this  ((such as m&m's or skittles.... you do you 😉😆)) but I've got a sweet tooth for all things Reese's so I'm just gonna stick with these!

I typically only eat these yummy treats about once a year when my kids bring them home after trick-or-treating ðŸ˜œ So personally, I think this is a real treat.... 😉😂LOL!  #Sharewhatyoulove 💝

Animal Expedition Designer Series Paper
To get things started today I am using the fun Animal Expedition paper.

Let me tell ya, even though it's not really a halloween themed paper collection it still works for this Halloween treat holder

Truth be told, I just never seem to have what I think I need when I finally get a moment to play so I am always trying to see what I have that can be used in a different or unexpected way.

Now just a few quick cuts and a couple of score lines and these matchbook style holders go together in no time at all.

Yet they are just what you need to make a simple treat extra special.  ðŸ’

I had so much fun whipping these up, I just might keep going....

Think Thanksgiving, Random Act of Kindness, Christmas, Valentines Day..... The possibilities are endless!!

Here on the left is the first version I made. I think this really works well if you are creating a lot of these adorable treat holders. But if you want that extra touch, the version on the right with the black matting really makes everything pop ðŸ˜ Don't ya think?

Thank you so much for hopping along with us this month!

Glitter Queens August Blog Hop - Inspired by Dawn

Hello Friends!
Welcome to our monthly Glitter Queens Blog Hop!

This month we have an extra special treat for ya! That's right,  we are taking a look at creations made by our main Glitter Queen and fearless leader the AMAZINGLY talented Dawn Griffith

While Dawn has definitely provided us plenty of inspiration, it was so hard to choose a favorite. Honestly I pretty much love EVERYTHING she makes.
Being that I adore cards that move, I decided to go with one of my favorites which also is one of the first cards that Dawn inspired me with way back in 2008.... (photo on right)

And here in the photo below is one of my favorite versions that she has made of the Pop Up Slider Card. This is just such a super FUN card, isn't it!???

Now here is the Card I made to share with you today.....

When planning my card, I knew I wanted to include purple because it's Dawn's favorite color ** although the photos make it look more pink now that I'm looking at it... And I just love the Beautiful Share What You Love Specialty Designer Series Paper! Don't you?

I also thought making a card that included the statement of the heart was a perfect fit  because Dawn is so good at sharing what she loves and helping others to enjoy our creativity!  I for one feel so incredibly blessed to have found her way back when and enjoy her generous spirit as she shares what she loves with all of us!

So where do you find your creative inspiration???

I personally love making cards with a specific person in mind. It really makes it easier for me as I find inspiration in that person.  What inspires you when creating your cards? Please comment and share with me because I would absolutely love to know....

Thanks for always inspiring us Dawn!

And thank you for hopping along with us this month!
Please be sure to check out what all the other Glitter Queens have made to share with you!

Scrapbooking Global Blog Hop July 2018 - Sketch

Hello creative friends, I'm so glad you're here!  Today I've joined in on the Scrabooking Global Blog Hop and I am so excited for you to see all the fabulous pages created for this hop.  For todays hop we are all working with this sketch here...

For my layout today I decided to create my own background paper. I started by bringing out a favorite that I just haven't taken the time to play with in a while.

For this page I knew I would be using a lot of water so I needed something that could handle it. So I decided to recycle the white cardboard piece that comes with those designer series paper packages.... I started by lightly sanding the paper to rough up the surface. Next I used a combination of the Prussan Blue, Moss Green & Yellow Brusho Crystal Colours to achieve the watercolor background I was going for.

My inspiration was my daughters graduation gown and I just played around by sprinkling color, spraying with water and moving it all around with my heat tool until I achieved a look I was satisfied with. Let me just say, if you haven't tried Brusho yet, ((what are you waiting for?????)) I mean, you definitely should consider giving them a try 😉 Because they really do allow you to feel like an artist and play with color in a very fun way that never gives you the same results.....

Here's a quick money saving tip for ya.....

Don't be afraid to use your matting layers for smaller dye cuts because once everything is glued down you won't see the missing pieces. 😉

Of course I had to add a little stamping and the adorable gal from the hand delivered stamp set carrying a stack of books seemed the perfect accent to complete the look...
Here is a closer look at my completed layout...

Finally I've added it to a 12x12 frame....
I like to do this so that others can get the chance to appreciate it
until I'm ready to switch it out for my next favorite layout of course....😉

Thanks again for stopping by and checking out my page!
Now be sure to continue hopping and check out all the rest of our talented hoppers!!
